Default ARB Half Rack Installed! Completing my vision of a cool Rover

Hello All,
I finally scored this ARB Half Rack on eBay. I have been looking for one for years and there are very few used with the mounting kit included. I paid $513 shipped by Fedex Frieght to my door. Pretty good considering this thing with the install braket kit and shipping is close to $950. Probably more like $1000 for the mesh floor which mine has. Let the expedition camping adventures begin! It is actually very easy to remove and install. It only took an hour to assemble the mounting brackets and install it with my girlfriend help lifting. It is about 60 pounds and is super solid. Now my rear ladder has a destination.

Yes I agree it looks good and all however I still prefer the full size safari roof rack - the more cargo space the better. Nice job though.

An eagle eye on eBay. I bought the 04 roof rails for $110 on eBay. Removed my headliner. Fixed a leak on my right A-pillar. Swapped the roof rails. Sold the old roof rails for $75 back on eBay. I think its how all Discovery's should look. Super beefy. I got mine from Marty (iamthedrillbit) on eBay.

This ARB rack is pricy, but not when you consider the quality and how its made and see it in person. All the welding, tube bending, tacks and nice paint and mounting, I see why its about $900. I got a deal, and if I dont end up keeping it. I can come about ahead, since they are about impossible to find used.

was your headliner wet when you parked a certain way when it rained? I have noticed my headliner wet on the passenger side a pillar.

It did'nt matter how I parked. I think it was something with the right front rain gutter. I siliconed it from the outside but it didn't stop the leak. I siliconed it from the inside the best I could. There is a extra piece of steel liner above the visors. It makes it about impossible to get directly in the corner with a silicon gun. So I filled it up best I could. It still leaks slighty, but much less.

It's important if anyone swaps roof rails to run a circle of silicone around the rubber pad that sits on the roof. It's cheap insurance to prevent leaks.
