Audio / Bluetooth Alternative
If you're looking for an audio player / handsfree / bluetooth option for your Disco, I have a recommendation. I just bought a Sound Fly bluetooth receiver that's really nice. It broadcasts FM with RDS and does a nice job of it. It will play audio either from a streaming bluetooth phone, SD card (up to 16Gb) or USB input (up to 32Gb). It also accepts audio via 3.5mm cable. When using an SD card or USB with MP3 files it also uses RDS to broadcast file info to your head unit. I currently have about 7Gb on an 8Gb SD card playing continuously, and have my iPhone attached via bluetooth.
If you're wondering about sound quality, I'm a bit of an audio freak. My home systems consist of Sony ES, Rotel, NAD, and NHT components. For an FM modulator, I'm quite impressed. My '00 Disco has the HK system, which helps, but this unit will probably do well just about anywhere.
I'm posting this because I had been considering either changing the system or replacing the CD changer with an iPod / iPhone interface. This less expensive, more functional unit has greatly exceeded my expectations and I thought others might be interested as well. I purchased this from Amazon last week.
