Thanks guys, I will look into replacing the viscous clutch this weekend as well, already have the parts bought to rebuild my front prop shaft.

Could this be the source of the clicking noise I have when starting the engine cold that last for approximately 8 minutes?

So I did the newspaper test on the fan today and 1 rolled up sheet of newspaper would not slow the fan down at all. I'm thinking the clutch is wearing out but not GONE yet. Think I still need to move forward with replacement?

Really curious to hear your thoughts on the cold clicking noise I am experiencing. It starts off clicking at idle and increases in speed when accelerating. After 5 minutes or so it only clicks while accelerating and then after 10 minutes the clicking is gone completely and the truck is running smoothly.

If fan clutch is the only issue, normally you would have acceptable temps at freeway speed (no fan really needed), but when slow or stopped, especially with AC on, temps would rise more than they should. Don't trust gauge above 50%, the Ultra Gauge will show you what is really happening.
