Default Average Water Temperature On 96Disco??

I'm having problems with my temperature gaude on my 96 disco and I hooked up a Scanguauge to it via obdII to get accurate readings , any one knows whats the average temperature my disco should run at???[PHP

I do not have a discovery, but the engine in mine is the same as yours, and will run anywhere between 185 to 210F.

what are you getting for readings? The above temps are what I get.

I'm getting 195-221 I'm in florida though??? what do you guy's think???

Not knowing the overall condition of your coolant, t/stat and radiator can make a difference but your numbers are OK.

I took off the radiator to clean it and it looked ok , just flush it two weeks ago, fan blows pretty hard and I can listen to the electric fans come on when I turn the ac on.

Things should be normal then. It is not uncommon for an electrical short to cause the temp gauge to malfunction. Mine does this and it is extremely annoying.

My DI runs at 196 on the road and 200 in traffic, 210 while off roading.

In the summer my DII runs 92 C running (196 F) and 100 C (210 F) idling or going slow uphill. Mine ran hot like yours until I did a really thorough coolant flush (engine, radiator and heater).
