I believe its 1/2. they have variety of sizes and I'm sure I got 3 sizes. The larger ones wont fit in the passenger or driver side. The back door is fine coz the cavity is larger.

The right thing to do is get some new moulding and replace it.

Or like was said, just move the slider in a hair.

What brand and vendor has the proper new moulding for the rear gate? I see them on AB for $157.95, is that the one you used or did you source an ebay $25 one?
