I don't know where you are from but here in North Carolina everyone I have talked to has been getting poor mpg, it is due to the legal amount of ethenol allowed in gas.

The sensors control your fuel air mix. Not sure if a non NAS 94 had them, but a NAS 95 has them.

Look under your passenger seat for a little box, it should have an LED display. Again, I know 95's have them but not sure on 94. When you first start the truck, does an amber check engine light come on the left side of the dash?

92 is regular unleaded here. The Australian version recomends standard (regular) fuel for this truck. We are getting more and more ethanol in our bowsers now. Government directive to be all 10% ethanol in the near future. We don't get to choose.
But hey I've lost 7mpg!

Don't think I have that little box - I would have seen it when i took out the Cruise Control unit. Wouldn't I? RHD so things might be a bit mixed up.

If I have O2 sensors where would they be.

oh man, you are all backwards... I knew your fuel was 92 standard. With 10% Ethanol, you will loose 10% fuel mileage, but 7 MPG is too high.

If you look on your exhaust, there should be what looks like 2 little mufflers as your pipes come down from the engine. Pretty sure the sensors would be before. Kinda like a little spark plug thingy screwed into the pipe.

I second the O2 sensors. Those are the usual culprit for a severe drop in mileage. Are your spark plugs sooty black? Also, have you cleaned your throttle body? Does your MAF have traces of sooty black inside?

don't think i have those O2 sensor things - i don't have catalytic converters and from memory there is nothing between the manifold and the muffler - 'cept the pipes!

I could live with 10%, I have closer to 35% loss. On the bright side when I fix it I'll get almost 50% gain.

This is what I'm after. Stuff I can check.

I haven't cleaned the TB yet but it all looks clean and shiny inside.

If I want to check spark, leads etc - how do I do that.

it is running better than it has in years - good even power on acceleration etc.

If your ignition timing is off it will lower your fuel usage.
Also check your tire pressure, if it is to low it will lower mpg.

And like already stated, ethonal will lower mpg.
Try switching to a different brand of fuel.
