Default basic questions.

Can I only get air filters from the Land Rover dealer, besides K&N ? Also I had the truck looked over before I bought it and the tech said that the radiator hoses looked old, would these be dealer only parts also ?

Other aftermarket companies, besides K&N, make filters that'll fit your Disco (Fram, etc.). Both air and oil filters seem to be common in-stock part numbers atthe larger auto parts stores. A lot of people here run K&N for oil but NOT for air (because of apparent MAF issues).

The radiator hoses actually come as a "kit" that includes three hoses, pre-assembled on the "T" bleeder connection (and clamps). Whether you go through a dealer or stand-alone parts supplier, I think you're going to end up with the genuine LR part. They run about $50.

Agood razor, heavy sheers, a turkey baster and a couple of strategically placed containers can get you through the proceedure without having to drain/replace your coolant (unless it's good timing for a flush anyway).

Sounds like your truck will be ready for a pretty big service to get back up and running the way it used to. How mwchanical are you? I can send you a list of all that should be done to a truck with that mileage if you want.

I'm confident I can do a majority of the work as long as I can find some decent instructions. I've got the RAVE CD comming from rover renovations, and I got the compainion from someone on discoweb. Been working on a jeep and a 78 f-100 for the past couple years, but these things are a whole nother breed...... A list would be good...
