Default Battery Light on the Road

OK so I'm on my way to Colorado and first the check engine light came on for incorrect purge flow . Whatever I cleared the code and it hasn't come back(500 miles later)

Now I got 2 codes for 02 sensors with slow signal/low voltage. I was driving over rough road in high heat so I cleared them and hopefully they won't come back. The sensors are 1 year old from Bosch.

Now the battery light is on. While running the vehicle is pushing out 14.1-14.2v consistently. No whining to indicate bad bearing or bad pulley.

I'm waiting for the battery sit a.bit seeing as its giving me like 13ish volts.

I also cleaned the terminals . Is there anything else to look for? I really can't to break down so far from a shop. Plus I'm in the middle of Sedona.

No idea.

From the RAVE:

It's not a battery light, it's a "Alternator charge warning lamp".

--------------------

"The alternator charge warning lamp within the instrument pack utilises a red LED and a clear legend. The LED
illuminates when the alternator output voltage is less than 2 volts. When the alternator output is greater than 7.6 volts
the LED is extinguished, providing the driver with a visible warning that the alternator is charging.

When the ignition is switched on, and the LED illuminates, it will remain illuminated until the engine is started and
voltage is above the predetermined parameter, or the ignition is switched off providing there is no fault.

The power input for the LED is supplied by the instrument pack via fuse 27. The alternator provides a signal to
illuminate the warning lamp by means of a hard wired connection to the instrument pack.

The response to the voltage signal at the instrument pack is as follows:
l < 2.0 volts = warning lamp on.
l > 7.6 volts = warning lamp off."

-------------------

So it sounds like maybe an intermittent charging problem or a problem with the connection between the alternator and the light itself. For starters, I'd check the connections to the alternator to be sure they are tight.

Because your ultragauge is verifying good voltage, I'd be tempted to think it's a short or connection issue in the wire from the alternator to the light.

Be sure your phone is charged, someone knows where you are, and you've set up a time for them to send out the cavalry if you haven't called.

And bring drinking water.

Your alternator could be going out. Now that I think about it, I had the same issue...work some days fine and not on others...finally went totally dead killed the battery. When the battery gets below 11 volts your M and S lights will start to flash and the truck will not run properly. The transmission ECU is not getting enough power to run properly.

Good news is you most parts store carry them now or can have them in a day. But only been in Sedona once and don't remember an Autozone.

Well the battery is sitting at 14.7v sitting in the truck. Any idea why it would be that high??

Well I have my buddies toobaru as back up. I'll check the connectors once the sun is out. Seeing as I've takin this apart like 5 times in the last year a loose wire wouldn't be surprising.

Fortunately I brought my tools

Batteries vary in voltage output. I've noted outputs between 13.4-15.0 volts. You should be getting this kind of charge voltage out of the alternator as well.

I tested the alternator and battery. The battery is solid and the alt is dying. The soonest they can get a part is Tuesday and for $250.

If anyone near sedona has parts I could really use some help.

Much appreciated.
