You can definitely do it yourself. It takes maybe 30 min and is extremely simple. I run it on both of my discos with great results.

Don't know about a video but check out the sticky about it at the top of the d2 page and there are plenty of install photos. Extinct can also send you the instructions via email prior to purchasing if interested.

Hmmm, lets see, horribly unreliable, can't remove trailside without losing all of the coolant, impossible to run without a thermostat element installed, limited temperature options, runs hots, responsible for thousands of blown head gaskets, plastic materials degrade and crack all the time, hard to get to. Better question would be does it have any good qualities at all.

the OEM setup allows for wide temperature swings.

the inline setup is much more consistent and tends to keep the temps around 190*, though some users have reported temps consistently in the 180's.

i have both a Range Rover P38 and Discovery ll. they use the same engine and engine management system. the P38's cooling system is less complicated than the Discovery's system and has fewer cooling issues and fewer reported head gasket issues. the Discovery's factory cooling system is just bad design.

I routinely run in the 180s if not cooler in the winter, however it's been freaking hot the past two weeks and with the car reading ambient temps well over 100 degrees F I routinely run anywhere from 188 to 194 when moving or even up a grade and sometimes a little higher if idling for long periods of time in traffic.

Ahh thank you. If my engine don’t have sleeve issue then I’ll keep the truck. Otherwise, it’ll get parted out.

I’m sure there’s already a thread about this and where to find the part #…
