Best brakes for D2 ???
Guys, I'll have to start considering brakes in the near futur, and would like to know what is recommended for a D2. The brakes I have now are absolutely silent, no matter if its dry or wet outside. I would like to replace my brakes with ones that will keep it as silent as it already is.
So no cheap brakes for me, I'd rather pay for better quality, as long as they are silent.
What do you recommend ????
Thank you,

Thank you,
How often does the D2 see trails and/or a full load? If it carries a lot, you could upgrade to DBA rotors. The come in flat, dimpled and slotted, and drilled and slotted versions. If it's a DD and sees the occasional trail, just keep with the genuine parts. If you go to the DBA's you can use EBC GreenStuff 7000 pads. I posted a link to them in the kevlar brakes thread.
Think they're the original ones, but not sure ( 58000 miles on my 2000 D2). It might see trails in its futur, but definitely not deep mud. In other words, I'll take it to where ever I need to go but I will never go PLAY in the mud just for the heck of it.
The purpose of my owning a Discovery, is that I'm an s.u.v type of guy, I fell in love with the looks and exclusivity back in the mid-90s, I can sit 7 people which is great for kids and their friends and I know that no matter where I need to go, it will take me there, rain or shine, snow storm or not. So these are the purposes it is used for and I need quiet brakes for it.
Now......What do you recommend ?????

I would stick with the OEM pads then, Lockheed is the brand.
Call your parts guy up there and see if he has them. You know they work well and wont give you the 3 amigos.

after driving the rig around for a week or so i think the stock brakes are more then enough to get most jobs done. unless you are hard core off road guy then going aftermarket would be overkill.
