Default Best DIAGNOSTIC UNIT for the money?

I was looking for a good diagnostic unit that will work on may Rovers and hopefully other vehicles as well. I have one that will do land rover Abs and clear codes. But I need one that can update software and program keys. I work on a 2012 Lr2, 06 range rover hse, and a 04 D2 but also would like to use it on a 2012 BMW SUV and verius other vehicles that I work on time to time. Any good suggestions on something that will not break the bank but will be able to be used on many different vehicles. Not I would like to also be able to reprogram old keys read some place the Hawkeye do new keys.
thanks in advanced

I have Hawkeye Total which would work on the 3 Landys. It is true that it will only do new keys unless you have a used key with the long bar code. Other than that it will do everything you need for the Landys. It will not work with the BMW. Nanocom will program used keys with just the short code inside the fob but is only good for 1 platform without buying additional licences and the the initial cost is about $80 more than Hawkeye, Bang for the buck in your case would be the Hawkeye IMO. But the BMW would be left out unfortunately,

I’ve got a Nanocom Evo and Foxwell NT510 (now NT520).
With the Foxwell ($155) I had Jaguar/Land Rover diagnostics and added BMW diagnostics for another $70 for my wife’s 2011 X5. It works very good.
