What is the best grease to use in u joints? I have been using Green Grease. Anyone have any better opinions or negative opinions for Green grease?

Any high-temp grease is good, I use Amsoil but most are fine.

You just need a general purpose grease, and there's not much advantage to anything else in that application. These greases are either going to be lithium or aluminum complex and either medium or high temperature. You want the high temperature grease for the wheel bearings near the disc brakes. For propeller shafts, there shouldn't be high temperatures. However, the Discovery's front drive shaft can be very close to one of the catalytic converters. But from the factory those u-joints aren't serviceable. If you're replaced the u-joints on the front driveshaft, maybe high-temp has a purpose there. But I buy high temp anyway because I used it for the wheel bearings too.

For high temp stuff, there's aluminum complex like the "disc brake grease" and there's the lithium like the red Sta-plex, and then there's poly-urea like the Lucas X-tra HD. Staplex and Lucas both have 500 degree drop points, and 60 lb Timken OK load's. The Lithium complex greases like Staplex and Mobil 1 are less resistant to wash out compared to the Aluminum or polyurea greases. The Aluminum greases usually have a lower Timken OK load. In any event, just don't mix them if they're incompatible.

Just make sure the grease goes in.
I put my grease in until a bit came out the U joints where the rubber seal hits the steel.
Too much in there?
ah well.
