Default Best Shock for Comfort

It's time for new shocks. Everything I've read on here seems to recommend the OME setup. I'm not going to be doing any heavy hauling or extreme off-roading. My main concern is the ride comfort, am I better off to replace with stock components or will an OME setup offer a better ride? I've read advice against the OME comfort shock, would that apply to my needs as well?

Thanks!
Jimmy

N107 and 108 OME HD shocks, not the standard ones, you'll love the ride.
How many miles on your truck?
Also replace the steering stabilizer at the same time.

I've got 67K on the clock so I figure it's past time. Also very glad to hear that OME will give a better ride and not be shot in 40K And thanks for the heads up on the stabilizer.

I also got a salvage front drive shaft and am having it rebuilt now so it looks like I'm going to have a big day ahead of me in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for the great 60K list as well. I found it to be EXTREMELY beneficial.

Make sure whoever rebuilds the drive shaft replaces the centering ball also.

If you wnat a nice ride I would not go with any HD shock, just get a set of Monroes or Gabriels, I have Gabriels on my truck, bought them at AutoZone for $120 and they work great, even off road.

Shock absorbers aren't the only factor in ride quality. Their only purpose is to dampen cycling of the springs and reduce unsprung weight transfer to the springs (stopping the see-saw motion from hitting a bump).
Your springs are an important factor to consider in that they are what transfer the forces to the rest of the vehicle. Softer springs, less transfer but more bounce; harder springs, more transfer but less bounce.

So you really need to identify what you mean by "ride comfort".

Good point.
If he isn't wheeling much, if any, his factory coils should have some life left in them. I wouldn't think he should have to replace them yet to regain some control.
, but as you have stated, there can be many definitions of comfort and what may be needed.

standard Monroes will give you more wobble. HD shocks help control that without making the ride too harsh. I have HD Bilsteins and new stock springs. Feels like a new one at 175K.
