Best way to clean out PAS reservoir?

Best way to clean out PAS reservoir?
I have the PAS reservoir out of the truck and I see the interior screen has a fair amount of crap on it... should i/ can I clean it with something? I could spray something in there or fill it with kerosene or something... thoughts?
