Default Big wheels - stock 255/55R18 to 265/65/R18

I put a hole in a side wall of my General Grabber TA's - tread was about done anyway so I didn't mind getting some new shoes for the disco. I searched the site and found many suggestions for what bigger size would fit with out too much rubbing. 265/65/18 seemed to be the size to try.

I thought it might help others to have photos of just what the size change looks like.

Stock 255/55/R18's ( these are the wheels that were on the truck when I bought it years ago - street tires )

265/65/R18's Falken Wildpeak AT3W

I like the new look - they're about 30 inches tall, fill the wheel well better and give me another inch under the diffs.

Very minor rubbing only when locking the wheel to the right. I'm sure I could adjust the stops to prevent it but I'm lazy.

Overall I'm happy with the change. Added plus is at low speeds my speedometer is now accurate - higher speeds the speedometer shows I'm doing 75 - actual speed is more like 77-78. Checked with iPhone app however accurate those are.

Cool deal! I found a great price of $160 a tire online - delivered to my local tire shop at no charge. The tire shop charged me $100 to mount all 5.
