Some pics of the herculiner would be nice. I tend to like the smoothness of the stock trim look, so not sure I would like the herculiner if it has a rough finish.
Here is a pic, sorry for the long delay. Used two brand new bumper end caps. One on left is painted with the Herculiner.
Just following up here. I put cerakote on a patch of the herculiner on my roof. Seems to be holding up in the Florida sun just fine plus it is still repelling water. I bought a bottle of the coating from the manufacturer and will be doing the whole roof this weekend. Also Project Farm did a bakeoff on trim coatings and this thing won hands down.
On the advice of this thread I ordered the $20 Cerakote wipes and gave my truck a treatment. I’m really satisfied with the way it turned out. Time will tell if it lasts, but it seems to be holding up 3 weeks later after a 2,900 mile road trip.
So Cerakote worked great on my trim. I applied last April when I started this thread. It did not do great on my wheel flares but that's because mine have been recovered with some type of bedliner is my guess before I took possession. I removed them to refinish and like the de-flared look so I'll run that for the near future.
When I read this I thought the question was referring to how to restore the life of all the rubber seals around windows and in between the doors and body.
I've always heard dielectric grease, any specific types that people recommend?
