Default Bleed brakes with Hawkeye or similar

So I just bought a hawkeye. I was wondering if anyone had any instructions on how to use it to bleed the brakes on my Discovery 2? Do I just run the circuit test for the "hydraulics" for a particulare wheel, and then open the bleeder while the pump is running?

So far this tool seems pretty cool... (and it better for the price) but it is very lacking in instructions for the things that aren't obvious to me.

The main reason I'm asking is that I pulled the codes for my 3 amigos and the only code was 4114 for the shuttle valve. So I was going to do the repair in the stickies, but I figured I would just remove the whole assembly and then use it as a good time to replace all of the fluid and maybe the rubber brake lines too.

Thanks!

Default Hawkeye

I may be wrong, but I don't think that bleeding brakes is one of its functions... hope i am wrong.

It doesn't seem to be one of the functions like it is on the Testbook, where it walks you through everything... but there are quite a few posts out there where people speak of using it for bleeding brakes. If it doesn't, I'm sure I can just do it the old fashioned way.

The most recent Hawkeye will bleed the system but is not necessary.
Send me your number and I'll call you if you need help.

Maybe its just me, but when I try to bleed the brakes on D2 or D1s, I can't use a pressure bleeder, the fluid just leaks from the bottom seals. I have to bleed them the old fashioned way.

Sounds like bad seals and a little too much pressure. I would suggest you start looking for some replacement seals soon.
