Blinking Gears with X and constant dinging sound

I drove my 2000 Discovery II yesterday to a family event that has a less than perfect driveway. I backed it off the driveway into the grass on a slight incline, so the truck was facing down. Might be a 10 degree grade, nothing special.
Enjoyed the festivities, came back out, turned the key on and ding ding ding ding ding... with blinking gears with an X in the upper left. My question is this:
Is this a transmission neutral switch, or the tcase neutral switch?
This thing blared at me for nearly my entire hour and a half ride home, then, without any reasoning, it went off as quickly as it began.
The love hate relationship continues!![Big Grin](https://landroverforums.com/forum/images/smilies/lxvR5hR.png)

T Case. May just need to be exercised.
Interesting note from the RAVE:
There are two configurations for this warning lamp:
NAS, Canada and Japan = warning lamp enabled.
Rest of World = warning lamp disabled
Does this mean that "Rest of World" owners are much smarter and already know they are not going anywhere if the TC is not engaged? Or maybe they just get the "gong show" and no light? Perhaps that means NAS, Canada, and Japan listen to elevated levels of radio that block out the chime and the extra light is needed.

I had a buddy crawl under and spray while I worked the t-case lever. Finally got it to budge and really got it working freely again. It's amazing how bound up it had gotten over the past 6 months!
In the first bit of movement of it the dinging had stopped. Excellent!
Thanks for the idea!
