Default Blower motor issues

Here's a strange one.... The blower motor in my 99 Disco 1 quit working. All fuses are good but while looking everything over, I noticed the cooling fan is on, but only when the blower motor switch is on. (turn the fan speed switch off and the cooling fan shuts off) I removed the fan relay and ran a jumper wire to it so I could run the blower motor. I have all fan speeds so that tells me that it's not the switch or the resistor. I bought a new relay thinking that would solve the problem. Well there goes $70!!! Plugged it in and same problem, no blower motor and the cooling fan is on. This one has me confused! I don't mind having a jumper wire on it but don't know how long that will last. Any ideas??

Eric
