Default Blowing cold, set to heat

I have a 2000 discovery II. I just pulled the dash apart to check the radio wiring. When I reassembled the climate control seems like the ac is on when I set it to heat. It was working correctly before I unplugged the control unit. The blower works. The hoses for the heater core are hot. It did this once before when I disconnected the battery. That time it started working correctly when I changed from celcius to Fahrenheit. Any help is appreciated.
