Default Blown Head Gasket?

I just noticed a tea kettle sound under the hood and narrowed it down to the passenger side. Can anyone tell me if i have a blown head gasket. Video has more detail.

Sounds more like an exhaust leak in the video but it may just be the sound quality. How are the temps? You might want to keep a close eye on those. Also, they rent block checkers at the parts store which will help you with determining if you have a head gasket problem.

Mine had a similar sound when my SAI system was on the fritz.

Any codes, or other clues?

It does sound like a blown exhaust manifold gasket to me, just hope I'm right and you get lucky.

You hit the nail on the head. Since it was the exhaust gasket I drove 5 hrs from Jacksonville FL to Ft Myers FL to visit family. The noise got louder as expected now one side of the engine sounds like its cammed out. I have gaskets on order to replace when i get back.

Grab a drink? I'm doing that on your behalf anyway.

Good video by the way. That's the ignited fuel escaping?

When you take it apart you will find something like this:

I would stop driving it, buy a Victor Reinz head gasket kit for about 200, block off a weekend, and go get some harbor freight tools (maybe 100 dollars worth of tools, if you have none. And that would be all you would ever need). Or take it to a shop and pay 1500 to 2000 for them to do it. You can change the head gaskets with the engine on the truck.

If it's any consolation, I've just diagnosed broken big end bearings on my motorbike. It's coming apart completely. Down to the last bolt. I won't be riding it this year. And have to invest in a whole bunch of specialist pullers to get it apart.

Good luck with it getting fixed. However you do it. Depending on when mine goes and how much cash I have I'm tempted with the $1800 garage job, and having some kind of warrantee for the work. I'm bound to mess something up.
