Default Blown head gasket pics and advice

I finally got around to taking the head off a Disco 2 I got last year, it had a loud ticking sound and no compression in one cylinder, was quite surprised to find what I did. It has less than 15k miles on a rebuilt long block, any ideas what would have caused this ?

Do the sleeves check out okay? If so, put some ARP head studs in there, replace the gasket and let her rip!

I am going to go with the heads not being resurfaced, improperly torqued head bolts. I have had a tick for well over 100,000 miles. I blew a head gasket at 175,000. In taking off the heads, One sleeve was pushed up slightly to the point where I had to use dry ice and a 1" thick steel plate to push the sleeve back to flush with the block. I still have the tick at 197,000.

The sleeves all look flat, I ordered parts this morning including the EL head gasket set and ARP studs, going to start cleaning everything up and take the head to get decked on Mon. Very excited to get it back on the road

Just run a straight edge across that side of the block like a 24 inch level use a flashlight behind it make sure the offended sleeve didn't slip down. Take the heads to the machine shop and get them to surface them. Shouldn't be more than about 200.oo dollars for both. Then yeah, new gaskets and ARP studs. This is the first engine of any of the cars I've ever owned that had a problem with sleeves moving. Im prepping a Chevy 5.3l in case this ever happens to mine.
