Default bonet switch??

I am thinking of getting a second keyless and found instructions for programming it. all steps make sense except the one that refers to the "bonnet switch" . The instructions say to start with bonnet switch depressed then later in instructions, I am to release bonnet switch. Does anyone know what this is referring to? I would think of the bonnet as the hood, but we have a pill lever to open the hood not a switch. Any help would be appreciated as I want to be sure of process before I try to program it. Thanks.

Maybe just a guess.........the key fob works in conjunction with the alarm system. The british refer to the hood as a bonnet. On the drivers side, under the hood, is a switch that works when the hood is closed and opened. It is directly behind the the air filter box. This may or may not be the switch the book is referring to.

You could always take it to the dealer and have them program it too. Our local dealer doesn't charge you for simple things like that.

Thanks, I now see the switch that they are referring to is one that the hood presses down when it closes. I guess it is a two man job to do them as one person must hold it down and the other do stuff inside. Does this method work for the 97 model year or just the 94/95 with single button?
