Default RE: Bosch +4 sparkplugs, extended tip or not?

Hi Ben,

Didn't mean to come off short or anything. As to whether I see a benefit to the Bosch design, that's another matter.I only wanted to make the point that electrode orientation is not a significant factor compared to other things...such as the placement of the plug itselfin the combustion chamber. As you probably know that one of the advantages to the Hemi head design (copied by others) is that the spark plug is placed closer to the center of the chamber than with other designs. That makes for a more uniform and efficient combustion cycle.

The benefit I see to the Bosch is a shorter electrode, thusmore rapid electrode cooling and less chance of a glowing red electrode to initiate detonation under high power output. I see no way that it would really improve performance.

Personally, I prefer plain oldplatinum or iridium plugs for their long life.

Cheers,
Dave
