I'm thinking of getting one for the Range, 60 bucks for an air filter is a hard bullet to bite. What was this I heard about not wanting to put a K&N in a 4.4 BMW?

I got mine at 4wd parts payed 35 bucks for it however it was on sale also one day I was driving notice and increase of 3 mpg over the original it's not much but now i get 20 mpg highway and 14 mpg town and that's with moderate driving when I take it easy my mpg stays the same on highway but slightly increases in town to 15 mpg but that might change once I get a OME heavy duty Suspension lit and some 245/75-16 tires.

I have Michelin LTX M/S (wanted the slightly more aggressive patter of the LTX series) in 245/75-16 and have seen no drop in MPG. I only get 15 or so tho (97 Disco 1, not really gas conscious at this time in history lol). I was not too impressed with my Michelin 4x4 XPC that were stock, but they were really worn, the tread was not aggressive enough. But the M/S is great, they reduced road noise, and have awesome wet and dry traction, havent gotten into real mud, but should be fine. The good thing about Michelin is they have such deep tread depth, and this leads to long life. If you have more money, get some BF Goodrich Duelers or whatever they got out now, I barely afforded the 160 bux each for the LTX lol....but that heavy duty suspension might add some weight and hurt you a bit....I'm from sacramento, and very few Landy drivers actually use their truck around here let alone wave back to me, I admit I barely do, but I dont have much time between work and university right now, but I will make sure my baby isnt just a mall hopper soon enough!

Hey man do you come to the bay area some time. I agree with you The OME heavy duty kit may hurt me I gonna get to the cold air intake that might help with the taller suspension. Your right to very few landy drivers ever wave I get some serious stares when my D1 is covered in mud from other rover owners espcially range rover owners.

I dusty environments they recommend the paper elements.

Take your intake off and wipe it and see for yourself after a few miles.
