So I pulled the BCU out, and it was all kinds of corroded inside. I guess I'll need to replace it. There is a "you pull it lot" close by that has an older D2. I'm thinking I'll just grab the ECM and the BCU so they'll be synced up. Does anyone know if that will work?

So you CAN buy the ECM and BCU together and have everything work. Sort of.

So I bought both control modules. I installed both, and then noticed that the alarm light was flashing. So I tried unlocking with the key. Still flashing. So I tried unlocking 3 times. Still flashing. So I tried locking and unlock 3 times. Still flashing. (and the starter won't even TRY to start like this, definitely still armed.) So I connect the hawkeye and reprogram the BCU to allow disarming with the key. And she starts right up! Now my ODO is flashing. So I go back into the BCU programming and turn off the ODO warning feature.

So if anyone needs to replace a BCU or ECM in the future, get BOTH and also some plips too, all from the same vehicle. (they didn't have the keys anymore, so currently i'm plip-less. I hope I can beg the dealer to cross reference my 6 digit code to the 18 digit code)

so the system got "armed" again, and this time I tried the 1-5-1-5 EKA, and it worked... so maybe plips aren't so important after all.
