Brake Failed and fluid coming around the Rear Air shock Pump
Hope someone can shed some light here.
My wife took the truck for the first time in many months on her way back she lost brake! never seen anything like that. Felt bad for her driving like that.
Since it's night, i took a quick look around and under.
seems like a lot of brake fluid coming in and a round the Rear Air Shock pump.
I am not sure how they are connected. without opening i don't know what's going on behind. is it possible that there may be a brake line behind snapped?
has anyone have this experience? here are some pic.
will appreciate your help.
Thanks

Hard to see where is the leak from, but Sure looks like brake fluid has ate the paint off of chases,,,,
In good light have her pump the brakes, while you look for the source of leak, after you find the leak wash the brake fluid off very good with lots of water b4 further damage to underbody paint, or it will cause lots of unwanted rust later on, even in Texas,

That is my plan tomorrow. I am assuming there is no connection with the air shock pump, right? It runs on Air not connected to brake system.
I have to open the box to see where the leak is.
This sucks!!!
I am pretty sure the line going to rear are ruptured due to rust. need to replace both of them.
Has anyone replaced these lines. what are my options? open the line and take to a shop to make more? buy whole roll and start replacing?
i don't want to pay $400 just for some metal hose.
Thanks

The brake fluid is probably either from a ruptured brake line or blown back from the front of the truck. If possible don't buy new brake lines just buy some cupro-nickel tube and make you own brake lines, far cheaper. You will need to do a full brake bleed after you replace the brake line. Take a look at the RAVE manual for both the brake lines and also brake bleeding.
PS: also buy some plastic brake line clips as you are sure to break some and you'll need a swaging/flaring tool kit for the lines. In all honesty, if one line has rusted through the other will not be far behind so do both lines otherwise you may be back doing the second one sooner rather than later and wasting more brake fluid.
The SLS air suspension and the brakes have no connection at all.

Question:
1. Are the end hardware easy to find? They are rusted badly
2. what size (diameter) are these pipe 3/16 ? I see a lot of them on the web.
3. I am going to try to change as much as possible. I know they are all rusted in the bottom
Thanks
I found the Leak it's right behind the Air shock box. I need to replace both lines.
Anyone know what is the size of this pipes? is it 3/16 (4.76mm)
what are the end bolt size?
I don't see this on Rave

Perhaps try cutting off one of the ends and taking it to a local hydraulic repair place, or even Napa auto parts. They should be able to measure the tubing and the flare and fabricate new ones for you instead of you having to get hold of the tools for this job that's likely one time only.
