While I'm doing this should I do plan B on the three amigos as a preventative measure?
In my opinion if you do not have the 3 amigo lights on right now then I would not mess with it.

They come and go, but I think it is just when the fluid goes low from the leak.
I might have fixed the leak, but well see how it works for the next few days

Glad you found it! That should get you fixed up. I wouldn't worry about the 3 amigos too much unless they become an annoyance to you. They come and go on both my D2's also. I haven't really worried about it too much.
