Default Brake noise at abs pump

99 discovery 145,000. My brakes are not as good as they use to be. No abs light but, I have two questions. One, when I was checking my fluids I heard a high pitch two tone noise coming from the abs pump. It is not loud but you can hear it if you put your ear near it. The other is when the rover is in park I hear air from the brake peddle area. Is this normal? I am getting ready to do pads and a fluid change and just wanted to know if I need to do anything else while I am at it? Thanks in advance!!

The ABS pump is cycling on and off, it will do this for about 10 min after you turn the truck off but it should stop after that.

As for the "air" sound, is that with the engine running?
Is the door open?
Do you have SLS? (air ride)

The two tone noise was still there this morning when I checked. The air noise is when the truck is running and I step on the brake peddle.

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak coming from your brake booster which would explain why your brakes are not as good as they used to be.
If that is the case, then when shopping around, see if you can find a good guaranteed used booster/master cylinder and install it as one unit, then do a full 3 pints DOT 4 brake flush.
