Default Brake vacuum leak?

All,

My Disco is a one owner truck, so I have no one to blame. I've been learning systems one at a time as they have problems. The latest is the brakes.

I have newish pads, the lines are newish, plenty of fluid. Everything works but the brakes are slow to recover boost shortly after startup. It is has been like that since it's resurrection almost two years ago.

The sign of a problem now is the brake light (on dash) flashes when I accelerate. I haven't noticed a change in braking boost.

I've had to fiddle with the intake to change coils, replace gaskets, etc some recently. I replaced the plastic nipple om the top back hose with a brass one (on the intake, passenger side). The hose was a little stretched and I heard a leak so I put two clamps on it.

Will a vacuum lleak cause the brake light to come on and, if so, is that hose a good place to start?
