Default Brand new Atlantic British 4.6 leaking oil

I replaced my blown block about 2k miles ago with a brand new AB long block. I first started it up and it was pissing oil out of the crankshaft seal. I called and AB sent me a new one, which I replaced and it solved the issue. Now I have a leak on the back of the engine. It seems to be leaking down the rear and back sides of the oil pan but not from the oil pan seal. I cant see any oil leaking out of the valve covers. All bolts were tightened to specs. Rtv was used on the corners of the head gasket seal. Any ideas on what the issue could be. I lose about 1/4 qt. Every 250 miles. Also using traditional 40w. As recomended by AB.

Cruciform seals(one on each side of the rear main bearing cap), and the rear main seal are all that can leak oil, after ruling out the oil pan, valve covers, and intake manifold.

I know it’s a pain but why should you be dealing with all this ?
Send it back and get a new one

I guess I'll be dropping the tranny to see. It's easier to do that than pull the block back out.

Any way to test or suggestions before I do that?

You can drop the oil pan(with the engine still in the truck), remove the rear main cap and replace the cruciform seals first.
That's easier than removing the transmission.
If it still leaks, then the rear main seal is all that's left, then the trans or engine must come out.
Oil pan stays on for rear main seal.

YOu should contact them prior to any disassembly to see how they would like to go about repair. Ask for part/labor reimbursement.

We had an instructional thread about this a few weeks ago. I posted a large number of pictures - if it is leaking at the rear it is either the pan gasket (unlikely), the valve cover gaskets, the intake gasket (only if the valve cover baffle is plugged), or the crucifix seals. Due to the design of the seal area it is almost impossible for the rear main seal to leak any appreciable amount. Look up my post from a few weeks ago and it should be clear why.

I'm having zero luck finding the thread; I'd find it useful too.

Who cares? Not your problem. Send it back. They pay all return shipping AND new shipping since you already paid it to get what you never did.

Tell them to honor their products and post the results here for all to see.
