Default Break light?

Ok I have a stupid question. When applying the breaks what lights on the back of a 2001 discovery with stock lights and bumper should light up? I am only getting the lights on the bumper to illuminate. Do I have a problem?

Yes. Center mounted high brake light and both "tail" lights should come on, in addition to the bumper mounted lights. And no, it is not stupid to ask here, and it is a lot cheaper than the dealership. As a matter of fact, no one in town has lower prices - repair and despair are on sale today!

Ok so I can check the bulbs. If that's not the problem where should I look next?

Time to get out the electrical troubleshooting manual section of the RAVE. It is separate from the workshop manual. Might be a common ground point.
