break squeak
on a 98 disco, i just put some rear pads on it from oreillys and it sqeals some terrible, ilooked thru some old post and it was sayng check caliper, but i know a lr is not a gm, but i been fooln with gm's for ever, and with them either tha caliper is froze or its not. so my question is how can i tell on a disco if its the caliper or the rotor making the noise. i have put the blue gue on the back dont help any. also my wife bought the first set of pads from the zone stayed on the truck about 3 weeks, and i pulled them cause i thought that was the prob thanx
ORIGINAL: Disco Mikehad not theRovers don't just take any old brake pad. Check with Atlantic British and make sure you use plenty of sound deadening spray on the brake pads prior to installing.
What can I tell you, if your brakes are squeaking the pads are not compatiable with Rovers.
Do something pretty quick before you throw your 3 amigo's, then you'll have an extra $100 plus cost just to get them turned of because of squeaky brakes.

You dont need to worry about the three amigos, you have a DI.
Your brakes are squealing because you didnt have your rotors resurfaced. Not a big deal. Once the new pads "seat" they will be fine.
Double check to make sure that you put them on the right way, there is a pad that goes on the outside of the rotor and one that goes on the inside, I think that one pad is longer and that is the one that goes on the outside of the rotor.
Brake are brakes, friction material rubbing on metal, thats all any brake is on ANY car, nothing special. Had you put O'Rielly pads on with brand new rotors you wouldnt be having any noise.
As for the Bremo rotors, yes you can use them.
