Went for a swim, below. Got water in the BCM and the ECM (at least) and now she wont start. If I can't dry them out and get them working how do i replace them? I head they are a matched set with the gauge cluster? So if I got a BCM, ECM, and Gauge Cluster from a parts car that should work? What else would i need?
Buy a big bag of rice, pull the BCM and ECM, open them up and bury them in your bag of rice for a week or two and they will probably dry out and work again.
Yes, you need a matched set. IC is optional but it will flash the odo unless you turn it off with a nanocom. You will need to turn on the ignition and leave it on for 20 mins to allow the new bcu-ecu to sync with the interior fusebox, or you can get the matched fusebox too (not a bad idea ot have a spare).
If I get a donor ECM/BCM/Gauge cluster does it have to be out of a non ACE car (mine doesn't have ACE)? I imagine it has to be out of a non SAI car since mine is non SAI.
Yes, needs to be similarly equipped if you are going to diy, not so much if you are taking it to a shop that has a testbook programmer and knows what they are doing.
