Default broken clip mount for the air box lid to air mass airflow sensor--can it be fixed?

Seems a common problem,...as all 3 of my Disco IIIs have had this issue. The plastic mounting points for the clips that secure the air filter assembly/box lid to the Mass airflow sensor tube are broken. One has been completely missing since I bought the truck a year and a half ago,...and the other broke partially yesterday.

Has anyone found a way to secure the lid of the air filter box to the MAF using maybe wire ties or stainless safety wire? Has anyone found an adhesive that will permanently re-secure the partially broken clip mount on the Air Box lid?

BC in Austin

I installed a dryer duct metal hose clamp around/ over the clips and tightened the screw. My broken clips are still intact although cracked and barely hanging on. The seal with the 'O' ring works good. It's worked a few years now.

I did this fix....I found that the clips were pretty poorly made and don't hold very well, but it may be due to were I placed them

Am not there yet, mine still fine. After regrooving the plastic for a clip to stay put from cover to filter box.
But attaching strong magnets to box and cover should work if I need to. The best latch there is not needing a latch.

For the air sensor intake, the solution above seems fine.

I am looking for clips like the ones used in the above fix but they are not sold in Canadian Lowes...
