Broken Passenger side rear ACE linkage
My passenger side rear ACE linkage is broken at the ball joint. I will replace the part asap, but in the mean time I need to drive the vehicle. I doubt this is a part I can buy locally and will need to order it. I am thinking of getting a four or five inch length of large heater hose, splitting it, and using it to stabilize the the linkage with a hose clamp above and below just until I get the repair part. Can you think of a compelling reason I shouldn't try this? Does this sound like a reasonable temporary hack? Thanks.
Once I started working on it, I could see there wasn't enough room above for a hose clamp. I wired the linkage back together with electric fence wire until the replacement part comes. It seems to work out okay. I won't be off-road until after it's properly fixed.
