Default Bumper Opinions for D2 with G4 headlight guards

Got a set of G4 headlight guards for my D2. How do you refuse when it's on my wish list. Came out great... now just trying to figure what steel bumper would look good with it. Currently have a Bottorf 'lil guy'. I don't even know if that's the right spelling. Bought it from another owner who got an ARB. My stock bumper was cracked. I don't want to hear opinions on Bottorf... easy enough to do... I would guess. I got the bumper for a deal $200.00 installed.

Tactical 4x4 sent me a photo of his D1 minus the brush guard that is on each side of the 'A' which protects the headlights. It looks like a slimline bumper and look's good.

Wondering what I could compare it to... so give me a list of personal preferences/opinons if you would.

- ARB Sahara
- RTE Slim line
- Terrafirma
- ?

We've talked personally, me trying to steer you away from the ARB bar.

2 questions
1. How important is a winch to you?
2. How important is dynamic recovery to you?

I won't be getting a winch. Just two recovery mechanisms on it.

Newer style ARB bars do not have recovery points such as the 03-04 ARB bar and the ARB sahara bar. Finding a bumper without a winch tray isn't super easy, as many people run winches. Check out hard labor creek.

+1

HLC Fab stuff looks pretty stout. I'm thinking I'm going to buy a rear bumper from them. I'd say that'd be a good look with those light guards and their front bumper.

I'm personally going to do the light guards with a TJM bumper.

There's one for sale on Ebay from Underground Rovers for $850.00 with a full brush guard. I don't think the full brush guard will fit with the G4 guards. Will that look ok even if it did? I like the Tactical with only the 'A' and light rail. It's got a great approach and look's sharp. The Terrafirma is my second choice but I would want an 'A' bar for some rallye lights.
