Default To buy or not to buy?

Hi everyone, I'm looking at purchasing a 1995 Discovery. It's in rough shape overall. Looking for an opinion from you guys that already own one, just wondering if it's worth the hassle. It's got some surface rust pretty much everywhere on the undercarriage and rear bumper. No rust on the body panels except for a spot beside the license plate holder. Manual transmission. The interior is cloth and there is not rips or cuts. Tires are in good condition. 7 passenger. Dash is warped because of heat (definitly needs replacing). Faded roof and hood. No power seat or sunroofs. I'll try to take some pics later tomorrow. Mileage is about 230 000kms.

Now for the big question...Is it worth 2000$ CDN?????

What else should I look for problem wise? Thanks for all the help!

unless you are looking for a project truck just to play with, i would stay away from it cause if it is in that rough a shape, no telling what bigger surprises you'll find.

If there is a lot of rust on the undercarriage and around the bumper, I would concerned. The truck probably has more hidden secrets that could cost you $$$$$.
If you are a good mechanic and want a project this would be it.
I would keep looking around. The price tag doesn't match truck.

You could buy a 2WD Toyota truck for that kind of coin and drive it200,000 more miles.
