Default Buying 2004 D II

First post here, saw a great land rover discovery II 2004 in my region, perfect interior and exterior and low mileage the dealer is asking for 7000$ CAD, don’t mind paying the price but not sure if it is justified. My main concern is the frame, it is pretty rusty but doesn’t have any holes in it, I have a rough video of the rear which gives a good idea of the overall condition, any thoughts?
Thanks!

That's a fat NO for me. You can absolutely find a better truck. When it needs parts replaced (and it will), you will have a hell of a time getting any bolt underneath off. If it doesn't have holes in it now, it will soon. That's a dumpster fire of an undercarriage condition. buyer beware.

Yeah I don’t know how hard it is for you to buy US truck from the South. It would have minimal rust and you would have plenty to work on to make the Rover better and be able to drive for years. Tnrangerover is right. I had an 04 with about 1/4 of that rust and doing any work on it was so difficult. It’s not just the frame but suspension and engine components, even trying to remove the headlights was impossible. Bolts would just break or strip.
Your looking at the right type of truck …just not that one !

if you can buy a truck from California or other no salt states, and bring it back to Canada, that's your best bet. maybe ship it to the border and then drive it back or buy one that's a big pricier but with a long service history and ready to make a long drive back.

Try for a west coast truck, we use less brine here although the last 2 years have been crummy

Montreal, and I think the truck I was looking at has sat in the grass for a long time, which would explain the low milage and the great condition except the frame, 3 amigos and jammed shifter

rust is there, and YES..will be hard to remove bolts...but the welds haven't split open and the potential for many good years more on that frame is possible if blasted and coated as soon as you get it. Better than my old frame that I drove for several years without issue.

also, you need to look at the WHOLE frame, not just the rear.....

-2500 off price due to rust and repair!!
