That isn't that bad. Wire brush and rust reform product. Rear section may need replaced in a few years. That frame will easily go 10 more years if cared for and patched down the road. No holes or split welds yet. Granted it is more than surface rust, but it isn't terrible.

Thanks for every replies, since I've got so many good responses I tough I would share a list of every problems I found on the vehicle and maybe it might help us make a good decision, for my part if I can take at least 2000$ off the original price I might consider buying it, but since it is at a used car dealership I doubt I can negotiate that much
Vehicle: Land Rover Discovery II SE 2004, 111 823 miles
Problems:
- Electric filling port not opening
- Rear left light filled with water but working
- Inside carpets a bit wet (leak or just from them washing them not sure)
- Tires a bit cracked (dried)
- Left front light burned
- 3 amigos + check engine
- Air conditioning not working
- Rear passenger door stuck in locked position (can't open)
- 4X4 shifter jammed in place
- Exhaust leak
- Shifter boot and e-brake boot flaking
- Brake master cylinder rusted badly
- Valve cover gasket leak
- Transfer case leak
- Headliner sagging
- Engine makes a squeaking noise

and on top of that no previous owner records, so yeah..

This looks like a project truck, $2k max and some people would not even pay that.

Thanks!
check out this one not far from you

Yes I was just looking at this one! Not much info but might be worth a look thanks! I also had this one in mind but I've heard bad things about the 2003 which do you think is better (2002 vs 2003)?

2002 still assuming the transfer case is able to add a cdl shifter.

you’ll have to swap the entire tcase or the full nose cone plus add the shifter for an 02. 99-mid01 had the locker but not the shifter.

Out of those two, the 02 looks like a better buy just off the info provided.
