Got it down to 11500 so far but i have the feeling this is not going to happen...Most of your posts make me realize the age + needs of this car.

I paid $12K for mine and it was an 04 (CDL included), 7-seater, Vienna Green as well and had 20K miles less. Don't pay over $10K, which I wouldn't consider a great deal, nor getting ripped off.

Heck its a classic, well not really but it sure is a damn fine looking truck in my opinion. I won't even go into what other sorry vehicles you could get for this price. Its a gotta be a love thing for it to workout in the end.

If It were in great condition I would be willing to pay 10K. I still can't believe I paid 35K new for my 04's as the value was worth about 20K the next day.

If you got the money and love it than buy it.

Just curious, what's the blue book on a 99' if my two are worth next to nothing?

nada says that mine is worth 4075 retail, and then adds 1112 for having 111,000 miles. I'd be tickled to death to get $3800.

I paid close to 10K for mine, but I am on an island which means I have very limited selection, and almost any car here is going to be more than what it is really worth, but I also got the complete spare set of tires (the 6 spoke OEM rims with Pirelli rubber on them), plus brand new rims and tires, plus he had all the paperwork from the Land Rover dealership with what amounted to the 60K mile checkup done at 64K miles, and it had 67K when I bought it. I think if you REALLY want that particular D2, get it, but if its just the car in general you want, look around you could probably save yourself 6 grand at least.

Yep, got the moulah for it, love it, but can't repair it myself for sure. I do have a backup car if needed, but lots of you are saying that buying the Discovery necessarily implies multiple stops at the shop. I'm also contemplating new LR4s and RRs Sport. All different thing, I know, I know. I wish the LR4 still had the spirit of the Disco.
