buying a used D1, what should i look for?
Hey everyone, so im thinking about buying a D1 since i heard those are the ones with less problems. i was just wondering what are some things i should look at when it's shown to me?
what price range does a well maintaned D1 would go for? i know if it's at a really low price it might be because something's wrong right?
also what was the last year for the D1s?
any help hints and tips will help a lot thanks

Well as for pricing...it varies by market.
www.nada.com
www.kbb.com
www.edmunds.com
Look up the price of the truck that you are looking at on all 3 sites and then take the average of all 3, it will give you a good idea of what the truck is worth.
As for what to look for, check engine light, ABS light, working sunroofs, working cruise control.
Make sure everything works, standard used car buying stuff.
Listen for any unusually loud noises. The test drive should last about a hour.
If the check engine light is on while on your test drive take the truck to a autoparts place and have them read the trouble codes, write them down and post them on here if you are serious about that truck.
And yes, if the price is to good to be true then it is.

Spike and Sloppyjoe - Can't you guys ever be serious? Just kidding, I know you can't.
When you go to test drive a Rover, push every button, open every window, sunroof and door, turn on all the lights. In short, try everything to make sure it works properly.
Listen to the engine for anything obviously wrong. Look under the truck for leaks. Oil leaks aren't a big deal if they're small but if there's big puddle think twice. Any coolant on the ground should be a red flag. Unlike oil leaks, coolant leaks are always a big deal.
D1s have less electronic stuff on them than a D2 so fewer electronic problems but they have their own quirks. Get as much as history and maintenance records on the vehicle as possible. If you see anything that doesn't seem right get back to us about it before you buy and we'll let you know if it's a big deal.
Good luck
