Default A/C Switch

When I have my A/C on high Fan. It shuts off randomly and all I have to do is touch the switch and it comes back on. 96 disco. Does anybody know an easy fix?

Most likely the resistor pack that regulates the fan speeds is failing, don't run the higher speeds, running a slower speed actually allows the a/c to keep up with the heat and blow colder air.

Mine does the same thing every now and then. Just touch the switch and it comes back on. Probably in the selector switch. I just haven't torn mine apart yet.

One might think it is the switch, but it is usually always the resistor pack which do burn out especially when you run your a/c in the high position.

Why would just lightly touching the switch on the dash affect the pack under the dash? I trust your call Mike, just wondering.

Can you just replace the resistors? I haven't looked at the pack yet, but know where it is...
