Best's pics two years ago with hurricane Harvey were more crazy. The water was within an inch or so from the threshold of the front door of his house. Happy to hear the storm is subsiding.
It's a slab unfortunately.... I would like to move, but my wife does not... Guess who wins? I will say 1,000 year storm = my @ss lol.
If I ever do flood I've already thought about it (since Harvey) and I'll never have more than 1-2ft of water in the house. I'm to high for that kind of damage unlike most of the surrounding area, but if I did flood I'd cut out all the sheetrock 3ft up and replace it with tin. I saw it done and not only did it look rustic, but if you ever flood again you simply unscrew the tin, remove the insulation, let it dry, rewire if needed, and re-install the tin when your done. My floor with the exception of 3 bedrooms is all synthetic wood so you can raise it up, let it dry, and then re-install it.
Imelda wasn't as much rain for me as Harvey however Imelda certainly acted more like a hurricane/tropical storm vs Harvey. Why these damn things always have to happen at night = getting old.

Today in West Houston we got closer to flooding than Harvey. My teenage daughter drives the Disco and her school parking lot flooded. After lock down, she got away without a scratch in the Disco.
Seen three Disco's today in our area, clearly truck of choice for rainy days.....
