Can anyone shed some light on the factory front drive shaft? I want to rebuild mine
For those of you who have not been following my build thread recently, my aftermarket serviceable drive shaft needs to be rebuilt. I purchased Moog 344 u-joints and Moog 617 centering ball kit, but sadly these are the incorrect replacement parts for the aftermarket drive shaft. Furthermore the manufacturer/seller of my aftermarket drive shaft (IE: Proshaft LLC) appear to have went out of business so I have no way of determining the correct replacement parts. I retained the original drive shaft and it has around 145,000 miles on it. Never failed and never gave me any problems before I replaced it. Needless to say again but I just so happen to have all the correct parts needed to rebuild the original drive shaft.
What I need to know is what part of the original driveshaft is not serviceable? Ive read afew long articles about the drive shaft. Some say the u-joints on the double cardan end were not fitted with grease fittings and thus cant be greased. Ive also read that the centering ball bearing inside the shaft is sealed and thus not greaseable. Which is it? Can the centering ball be replaced? and if I replace all 3 u-joints and centering ball, need I still worry about my original shaft breaking apart and putting a hole in something?

Call Dynamic Driveline and explain you have a ProShaft. Tell them you're trying to rebuild it and need the part numbers for the Ujoints and centering ball. They'll probably be relieved that you're not trying to warranty your ProShaft with them and gladly give you the info.
