There is no such thing as the engine immobilizer coil.

Is this a petrol or TD5?
Where are you located?

What exactly is it doing? Not cranking, or cranking and not starting.

Default took it to what company?

It sounds as though they don't know what they are talking about and are trying to pull a fast one on you. If your truck is still there ask them to show you this switch and then get your truck the hell out of there. Hurry up before it has more things wrong with it.

I researched the part a bit. Land Rover UK has discontinued the production of this part. It is considered NLA and out of service, perhaps try to get one out of a junkyard or something?

Just have them disable passive immobilization in the BCU, with testbook, T4, hawkeye, whatever they have. That's all the coil is used for. (and I doubt it's causing your engine to die).
