Default Squeaky air con pulley on a TD5...can they be replaced?

Got an 02 plate facelift series 2

Has the TD5 engine

the air con pulley squeaks in use...doesn't do it all the time and is more noticeable when cold...if you switch air con off it shuts up...

sounds like the bearing in the pulley has got...

can you replace these or if not would removing the bearing and soaking in oil stop the squeak...

how do you remove them...

many thanks...

Do you mean the clutch pulley on the AC compressor? There are parts out there, but an AC shop may be able to sell you just the pulley/clutch parts. Or a breaker yard. You can "listen" with a yard stick (meter staff?) held to one ear and touched to suspect objects whilst Rover is running. This may confirm your selection of device to swap out, like an idler pulley, power steering pump, etc.

LR considers the AC unit a complete swap out, they just list the compressor and O-rings in the Microcat parts database.
