Default Can I install an '04 SLABS unit to my '02 without CDL?

So I don't have the t-case ready yet, but I want to make sure the SLABS unit I have is working and not programmed for SLS (if so, hoping my Lynx can re-program it)

Is there any issue with swapping it in now and not hooking up the CDL wires?

Shouldn't be any problem. And you should plug in all the connectors.

Thanks I'll give it a shot.

Sure you can install it, but my assumption would be that it factors for a CDL, so maybe not worth it

Well it would only factor for a cdl if the cdl is engaged, no?

In other news, I am starting the '04 transfer case rebuild tomorrow. 1.41 hi-gear, new input gear, HD cross pin, and various other little bits arrived today from Ashcroft. Hoping this will fix my sluggish hill climbs. And of course, CDL I plan to make a video of the teardown and rebuild and post it here. Though I said the same about the engine, and never did it.

Supposedly the Lynx Evo can program the SLABS; their website explicitly says that it will calibrate the air ride height but the coverage chart also implies that the Lynx will program other aspects of the SLABS as well.
I wish someone near me had one I could borrow...

Yes!! It's gonna happen. I want it as much for my own reference... nothing worse than putting something back together and forgetting where the long bolt went...
I was lucky enough to get a free transfer case from Abran (thanks to UPS damaging it during shipment, good news is Abran is getting paid too) so I've been practicing the tear down on that. Punching out bearings, races, etc. It's a different beast than the engine for sure... requires more muscle... and lots of new tools.

Can't wait for that video. I've been holding off on swapping the nose section on my 03 because I wasn't confident I could get it. Still may swap the whole case.

Edit: Actually just remembered I've got a little bearing slop in my t-case. Nevermind, guess I'm swapping it.

Jeff, any new SLABS will have the previous owners settings so you will need to reprogram it with your own selection. Best to attach a Nanocom, Hawkeye, Lynx etc and take a copy of your SLABS first as the SLS and other criteria may be vastly different.
