Default Can a older Disco 2 headlights be changed with the newer disco 2 headlights

I have a 2000 modeled one and I was just curious If the 2004 disco. 2 headlights would be able to fit or be installed if I were to buy them. Thanks

Yep it's possible. You'll have to modify the front grill support so the newer headlights will fit, you'll need to get the pigtails for the newer lights and wire them into your current setup.

I honestly love the look of the 03/04 Headlights, but I can't stand that they fade, get cloudy, get foggy, and are plastic vs glass.

You and me both. Wish I never did it to tell you the truth.

The lenses on my 04's headlights fogged pretty bad a few years ago. So I sanded them down and sprayed them with UV resistant clear coat and they look brand new (UV is what screws them up). If your lenses are fogged, I recommend doing that.

All my 03/04's I've owned actually got fogged up with moisture eventually. I tried to reseal them, but it was never perfect. Looked cheap rolling around with water inside your headlights.

I was actually happy when I found my 02 Kalahari and while the D1/D2 headlights aren't perfect IMHO I like em much much better. Better light output, better choice of bulbs, I like the silly puddle 194 bulbs (a typical European thing), glass vs plastic, and I've grown to like the look of 99-02 D2's which remind me more of D1's.

You really just need pigtails, lights, grill, and some muscle to do the swap though. However once you do it you can't go back without having to replace the front core support....

You are absolutely right. They look like crap when they leak. And the old ones were much brighter and more durable because of the glass lens. The only reason why I like the 04 style is because they look like my old L322 Range Rover that I used to have. Other than the looks though, they don't really offer anything better/different than the old style. Those were much less problematic.

Yeah and I went thru the H7 if I remember correctly bulbs like a mad man until the Long Life versions LR finally used took care of the issue.

Yeah that's a conversion I almost did. Take an 03 front end and put on my 97 RR 4.6L HSE Vitesse. I just couldn't find those lights for any cheaper than 1300.00 used back then.... So I never did it, but the conversion looked pretty darn good.

Looks great! I'm a big fan of the face-lifted DII's.
When I had my '01 I had intentions to "face-lift" it. Great look.
