Default Can you identify this part?

Hi

Could anyone tell me what's the purpose of the cable loop attached to a rubber bushing mounted to the steering damper bracket on the right side of the front axle (Disco 98)?

Here's the picture.

thanks

It is a factory installed counter balance to illiminate drive line vibration. Do not remove it or you will start shaking.

Thanks Mike. But shouldn't the cable be retaining/be attached to something? Or is it just a safety shall the bushing come apart?

It's just a life line to catch it if it falls.
